2nd Open. The first place in Junior gave Otis his last Junior
Warrant point, so he will now be officially known as Messano
Otis Redding JW!
There was no breed puppy class today, so Messano
Phonafriend was entered in Any Variety Gundog Minor Puppy.
Beattie was awarded this class and then went into the Gundog
Puppy Group as an unbeaten puppy, where she won the Puppy
Group!
Nadine Barber also did well at the same show, Messano
Judge For Yourself won the Open class, and was awarded
Best Of Breed. Well done Nadine and Georgia. A very successful
day for the Messano Kennel!

also achieved an excellent placing of 2nd in Post Graduate.
Beattie's dad, Ritzilyn Manhattan, also had a super day, winning

Limit at a Championship show at only two years of age, so we
were thrilled when she won this quality class. This win has
given her a stud-book number, which includes life-time entry

Today
was a very sad day at the Messano home. After a few days of
failing health, we had to say goodbye to our wonderful old
gentleman, Jamie. He would have been 15 years old on 11th
April, he was fit and healthy almost to the end and the decision
was made to spare him any suffering or indignity.
Jamie was our first male dog from our second litter and was
all that you could ever hope for in a dog, loving, loyal with
a wonderful temperament and a perfect companion.
He lives on in our Faith and many other dogs, who all seemed
to inherit his lovely temperament.

Dog Show. Judge: Mr Keith Young (Pyngold). Messano
Mustang Sally, Res Special Working Bitch. Unfortunately,
Whisper (Fairquest Summer Whisper To Messano), came into season
two days before the show, so could not attend. This was a dissapointment
because Catharina (Whisper's breeder) had travelled from Finland
to attend Crufts. Julie also had success with one of the Large
Munsterlanders that she owns in partnership with Gill Patrick.
Ashlowrick Fluss Chet (Ellie), 3rd in Post Graduate at only
22 months of age, in a class of 20. |

Great
Yarmouth, Gorleston and District Open Show. We did not have
dogs entered at this show and spent the day stewarding for
the working group. However, the Messano Kennel were well represented
at the show and achieved the following results;
Judge: Mr Ron Johnson (Choriand). Louise Sewell's Messano
Otis Redding gained a 1st in Puppy & BEST PUPPY IN
BREED. This was both Lou's and Otis' first ever show and we
were very proud to see them both do so well.

Also, at East Of Scotland Open Show, Judge: MS H Lenzi, Messano
Nelly Moser, owned by Tina Thomas, was awarded 1st in
Junior and Novice.
