This is a diary of events for 2007

So far, we have had a full and varied program of events lined up for the year, including a four night break at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel - Gosforth Park in May.
Situated in twelve acres of rolling parkland, it was the perfect location to relax, unwind and discover all those treasures in and around the borderland county of Northumbria.

Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne were just two of the locations we visited during our packed five day itinerary.

January The new year starts with a talk by Michael Murphy, who will be giving us a presentation about 'Liverpool from the 18th - 20th Century'

February we follow John Street as he takes us on a 'virtual' walk along the Sandstone Trail.

March is of course the month for the Annual General Meeting where the business of the Association for the coming twelve months will be discussed, followed by cheese and wine.

In April we have another guest speaker, this time it is Mr G. Bartley who will be discussing ‘Fish, chips and a Fine Romance’. I will leave you to ponder on that one!

May is our annual outing (see above or select May in the calendar at the left hand side)

May also sees the beginning of our full day coach outings, opening with a trip to Nostell Priory near Wakefield in West Yorkshire.

In June we met up in our own cars for a visit to Mount Pleasant gardens at Kelsall.

Again in June, we had a coach outing this time to Lytham Hall in Lancashire.

Also this month, there will be a coffee morning at Church Street, Frodsham.

In July, we had a coach outing to Weston Park near Shifnal in Shropshire, a magnificent building in 1000 acres of parkland and host venue of the 1998 G8 summit conference.

In August, we had another coach outing to North Wales and the theme this month was about the history of the locations we visited.

September took us south to the Black Country Museum near Dudley in the Midlands. It covers 26 acres and there were many attractions to see and even take part in.

September also took us to the first of our autumn lectures, this time by Ian May who gave a talk and photographic display about ‘Walks into Hidden Cheshire’.

October - We have a lecture by Rob Smith entitled ‘Duck Decoy’

November – ‘Astride the Pyrenees’ will be the lecture this month given by Major John Ellis.

December brings us to the last of the events of the year with a Christmas Celebration at the Frodsham Community Centre.
