Tuesday - 20th July (TTBA)
Home of the Marquess of Anglesey, Plas Newydd is
situated on the banks of the Menai Strait with magnificent views of Snowdonia.
This elegant 18th Century house by James Wyatt contains Rex Whistler’s largest
painting and an exhibition of his work. In the Military Museum are campaign
relics of the 1st Marquess of Anglesey and the Battle of Waterloo. Enjoy the
fine spring garden, summer terrace and autumn colour. Or experience a woodland
walk, marine walk or boat trip.
Also this month.
Wed - 7th July
We had an evening trip to St Peter's church at Aston-by-Sutton. This is an
interesting small church on the Aston Estate with a fascinating connection to
the housekeeper of the original big house.
The church is located along Aston Lane, between the A56 Chester Rd and Aston
village.
